Advertising agencies network

In 1985, “Wire and Plastic Products” was renamed “WPP” and, from this point on, began to trade plastics for advertising by acquiring several marketing companies in the United Kingdom. Today, WPP is the largest of the six major global advertising groups.

In 2011, on the occasion of its consolidation in Africa and Latin America, WPP was named best advertising network of the year at the Cannes Film Festival, an award it has repeated the following five years.

In Spain, this advertising empire is now managed from Madrid. The group bought the former Telefónica headquarters on Rio Rosas Street, where it set up shop in 2019.

La Matriz, as its largest European campus to date, demonstrates WPP’s continued investment and commitment to the Spanish market – one of WPP’s top 10 markets globally – and to the marketing and communications sector in Spain, as well as to creative talent.

Superunion, one of the agencies of the WPP group, designed the brand and corporate identity for La Matriz. Signes made all the interior signage of the building and the parking lot, with an absolutely innovative and attractive identification, where unusual materials were used, such as ceramic, wood and engraved phenolic board.

Among all the work, the identification of the main entrance building located in the hall, composed of nine luminous cubes that give the appearance of a floating sign, stands out in particular.
