A state-of-the-art healthcare center

The specific origins of the Hospital de Reus are little known, it is only known that it already existed in 1244 according to the writings of the doctor of history Pere Anguera. After several extensions, new locations and structural reforms, it was in 1985 when it was consolidated as a reference hospital in the region.

The new Sant Joan de Reus University Hospital is the largest investment (120 million €) made in the city of Reus. It took four years to build and was inaugurated at the end of 2010. It has 352 beds spread over 7 floors.

The hospital provides quality healthcare with excellent health services and employs more than 1,000 people.

Signes won the project for the needs study and design of the hospital signage. Organizing the signage of this almost 100,000 m2 mass was not an easy task. To this end, countless site visits were made to understand the complicated network of accesses, corridors, floors, parking and various buildings. To this end, countless site visits were made to understand the complicated network of accesses, corridors, floors, parking and various buildings. The elevator cores identified with large perpendicular banners – the space is enormous – organize the accesses in a visible and orderly manner. The signage is complemented by a versatile modular system through directional and positional signs, pictograms and window markings.
