Signes|Eyedog's reference implementation in Madrid

The Hospital Universitario La Paz, in Madrid, inaugurated in 1964, has established itself for more than 50 years as the hospital of reference in the capital. During this time, several remodeling and enlargements have been carried out on the site until it became the building we find today; more than 140,000 m2 with different architectural styles, fitted together as they were built. A myriad of corridors, spaces and stairways exposed the wayfinding to rigorous examination.

The hospital management was convinced of the need to implement a tool that would facilitate the mobility of users within the premises. The Signes | Eyedog app was the chosen solution, covering in a first phase only the Maternal and Child Hospital (more than 45,000m2) and analyzing the result a posteriori. After a few months of use, the feedback began to reach the hospital management; satisfied users, delighted healthcare personnel and a media impact that led them to decide to implement the application in the rest of the buildings.

The final application covers more than 142,000 indoor and outdoor routes, and dozens of users use it on a daily basis to reach their destination within the hospital. The app is available, free of charge, for iOS and Android platforms and already has thousands of downloads.
