A Laus Gold Award project

Colera is a coastal town in the Alt Empordà (Girona) that in the summer season receives a large number of tourists who do not know the area.

The City Council had the need to signpost the beaches with their characteristics and peculiarities.

The needs study of a tourism project must be undertaken with the perception that the visitor does not have any visual reference or existing nomenclature, so the project will be very intuitive and easy to understand in order to reach the maximum number of people who are discovering the new space.

With the collaboration of the designer Jofre Sanfeliu, a project was carried out to integrate the signage into the environment of this natural site.

The choice of material for the manufacture of the signage brackets in this case was very important, 30 mm thick Corten steel solved this problem. The graphics were applied by water jet to avoid problems of future vandalism and, to facilitate better maintenance, epoxy paint was applied to the entire support.

Time has proven us right, the supports age with dignity and the designers and the City Council received a Golden Laus Awards in 2011 for this work.
