In addition to being one of the most important clubs in the world, Futbol Club Barcelona’s stadium is a prominent tourist attraction in the city of Barcelona, attracting thousands of visitors every day, making the club museum the most visited museum in Catalonia in 2015.
This means that the practical set up of the day to day stadium environment is very different from the one used on match days.
The club emphasised the need to organise the huge flow of daily visitors in such a way that user routes would be optimised, while at the same time guaranteeing safety in an environment shared by pedestrians, private vehicles and coaches.
The areas surrounding the Nou Camp are filled with visual elements, advertising and media. The new signage had to both coexist and stand out in these conditions, always showing the ‘fan’ spirit yet working to a budget without losing quality, given that the plans to refurbish the whole stadium within two years would mean reconfiguring the entire structure all over again.
