A project with the Gold Laus Award

Colera is a coastal town of the Alt Empordà (Girona) that during the summer season receives many tourists who do not know the area. The City Council had the need to signal the beaches with their characteristics and peculiarities. The study of the needs of a tourism project must be undertaken with the perception that the visitor does not have any visual reference or existing nomenclature, so the project must be very intuitive and easy to understand to reach as many people as possible who are discovering this new space.

With the collaboration of the designer Jofre Sanfeliu, this project was carried out to integrate the signage into the environment of this natural landscape.

The choice of material for the manufacture of the signaling supports, in this case, was very important, the Corten steel of 30 mm thickness solved that problem. The graphic was applied with a water jet to avoid problems of future vandalism and to facilitate better maintenance, epoxy paint was applied to the entire support.

Time has given us reason, the support ages with dignity and the designers and the City Council received a Golden Laus Awards in 2011 for this work.
