The Balearic railway network

The metro of Palma de Mallorca is a metropolitan railway system that connects the centre of the City of Palma with the university area. It was inaugurated in 2007 and consisted of nine stations.

A comprehensive signage project was carried out with the collaboration of the architects David García and Antón Chacartegui. From the beginning of the project, the logo itself, applications on the façade, general signage solutions, graphic design, typography, pictograms, maps were designed. All the relevant information of the stations in corridors and platforms were elaborated in conjunction with the project and site management.

Signes was the winner of the implementation of the signage, working in unison with the five construction companies that were building the metro. Signes produced the exterior shelters for access to the stations, a spectacular design by the architects García and Chacartegui that converts a metal structure into a shade.

More than four kilometres of illuminated signs were manufactured for all accesses and platforms, as well as pictograms, positional signs and information panels. This ambitious project was carried out by our Company in record time, meeting the rigorous deadlines that marked the project.
