Everything changes, nothing changes.

Under this motto, Clínica Corachan is facing up a transformation project via those same principles of immediacy, quality and professionalism that the clinic has adhered to since its foundation in 1921, making a determined commitment to technology and innovation.

Taking advantage of the start of the clinic’s fourth expansion, they planned to renew their signage program at the same time as launching their new brand. This change presented an important challenge for the wayfinding requirement analysis.  As a result of the different expansions undergone by the institution, the internal circulation is very complex, taking place across four different buildings with diverse architecture over different levels that interconnect with one another.

Working in collaboration with the design studio Mucho, who undertook the graphic design, Signes prepared the requirement analysis, studying and revising the existing systems used to categorise, identify and number floors, consulting rooms and offices, in order to improve their overall coherence.

Signes also developed the entire wayfinding project, as well as the industrial design, production and installation of exterior and interior signage for the new expansion.

The wayfinding project was centred on applications using lightweight aluminium elements that would float on the walls, adapting to the different spaces of the clinic with the aim of creating a visual connection between each building that is sometimes lost across different architectural environments. Particular emphasis was placed on ensuring the perception of spatial orientation by reinforcing directional information on the axes of vertical displacement at important intersections or transition points between buildings that help the user to understand where in which building and on which floor they are at all times.
