L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. Barcelona.

L'H. A modern city

The Plaza de Europa and the Gran Vía of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat has experienced a spectacular change at all levels. In this large area -with the expansion of the Fira de Barcelona and the arrival of the metro to this area– great architectural works have been built. Buildings of renowned architects such as Jean Nouvel, Rafael Moneo, Oscar Tusquets or Toyo Ito among others, the Gran Vía 2 Shopping Center, the headquarters of the companies KPMG, Copisa, Puig, GB Foods, various hotels, and so on.

All this operation has been led by the City of L'Hospitalet that has managed to modernize and activate this new area, planning it and increasing its value, obtaining a deserved and recognized prestige.

When planning this new area that was called "Granvía L'H" appeared new squares and streets that were necessary to identify, new buildings that became anonymous destinations and therefore, should be signaled for its correct location. We received the commission from the City Council to design an element of signage to cover all these needs: Logo Granvía L'H, address of the building, street and number, logo of the City Council, all carefully designed and a chromatic solution attractive enough for that stood out from these great architectural masses and with the last premise that they had to put up, with a certain dignity, vandalism. Over time it has been shown that the solution adopted was the correct one.
