Advertising agency network

In 1985, the company "Wire and Plastic Products" was renamed as "WPP" and from this moment left behind the manufacture of plastics to become an advertising agency, acquiring several marketing companies in the United Kingdom.

WPP is, amongst the six advertising agencies worldwide, the most important advertising agency.

In 2011, and due to its consolidation in Africa and Latin America, WPP won the award for best advertising agency network of the year at Cannes Festival, winning five more consecutive years.

Now this advertising empire has its main office in Madrid. The multinational bought the old Telefónica headquarters located at Calle Rio Rosas, where it is settled since 2019.

La Matriz, as its largest European campus so far, demonstrates WPP's investment and commitment to the Spanish market –one of the world’s top ten markets for WPP–, involved in marketing and communication, as well as with creative talents in Spain.

Superunion, one of the WPP’s holding agencies, designed the brand and corporate identity for La Matriz. Signes carried out all the internal and external signage design for the building, including the car park, by combining an innovative and an appealing design, using materials such as ceramics, wood and engraved phenolic board.

We want to highlight the signaling of the main entrance which is located in the hall of the building that consists of nine luminous cubes that stand out with a floating appearance.
